Upgrades, traits, and the five stats

Bug Evolution has two different pick screens. Do not treat them as the same menu.

Level-up upgrades

Each level in the October 27 walkthrough offered one upgrade. Named options were Damage, Speed, Health, and Lucky Bite. More options were on the screen. No percentages were published for this menu, and Lucky Bite's effect was not explained.

Use the line of text on the button, not a fixed slot:

  • Damage ends hunts sooner. Take it when kills are slow and you are safe enough to stand still.
  • Speed reaches big orbs first and starts an escape. Take it when food is being stolen or players are catching you.
  • Health is the buffer while you learn a new area. Take it when one hit ends you.
  • Lucky Bite is visible and unexplained. Skip it until the button text says what it does, unless you are fine testing it.

Whether these picks reset when you evolve was not stated. The walkthrough only said you start growing again as the new bug and keep leveling.

Traits, seen after a boss level-up

A separate screen, LEVEL 153 – CHOOSE A TRAIT, appeared right after the Emperor Scorpion fell. Two effects were readable:

Trait Effect that was readable
Skitter Sprint costs 25% less stamina, Health +4%.
Thick Carapace Max Health +12%.

More trait names were on that screen and were not recorded. It is not confirmed whether every 10 levels, every boss, or only some level-ups open this screen. The level 153 case is the one that was seen.

Thick Carapace is the pick when the next fight is the boss or a larger player. Skitter is the pick when you spend the session running between food. That is a use split, not an official ranking.

The five stat bars

Every bug card shows Speed, Health, Bite DMG, Bite SPD, and Stamina. Speed is movement. Health is the hit pool. Bite DMG is damage per bite. Bite SPD is how often you bite. Stamina is how long Run lasts. Skitter lowers the sprint's stamina cost; it does not raise the stamina bar.

Exact bars for each form are still on the in-game card. A Housefly card was opened at level 17, and a Wolf Spider showed 966 HP at level 53. Those two numbers are not a comparison you can rank.

Buttons that are not upgrades

Button Status
PROBOSCIS Seen on Young Fly. Effect not recorded.
LAY EGG Seen, including in Whispering Woods. What the egg does, and whether levels reset, is not confirmed.
HUNT Seen on a level 53 Wolf Spider. Effect not recorded.
ADULT ONLY Locked slot. The adult rule was not explained.
LV 100 Locked until level 100. The ability inside was not shown.

Shop products named Spawn Egg Now (R$19) and Hatch Now (R$49) exist on the October 28 price list. They are not instructions for the Lay Egg button.
